5 Mar 06: Not much of an update here as only a few things have changed. If you read the board you probably already know that Chris and Flo have bailed on us. Mike had some issues with leave but he got it resolved and will be making the trip. We now have a couple of beds to fill if you know anyone that wants to come, send them here to sign up. Randy now claims he might have some issues with the trip dates but tells me he's working it.... Anyone with questions needs to send them my way.

69 days remaining until departure!

14 Feb 06: As only a few of you check the site with any regularity, I guess I'm writing this for you. (Kevin, Brian, Dan & Mike). Our alternate lodging is finally arranged. Deposit paid. As I'm already into this trip for $1000, if anybody backs out now I'm going to kick their ass! Here's the skinny; we have one, three bedroom place and one, two bedroom place from May 13 through the 20. Additionally, we will have a second three bedroom place from May 16 through the 20. With this in mind, sleeping arrangements will be a little cramped the first few nights. I know in the last post I said we were full. However, we actually have one couch/bedroom available when we get the other house. I keep hearing rumors of other interested riders but nobody is signing up on the board. The first person to sign up for it gets it. If you know anybody that wants it, tell them to sign up. If they want to come for the whole trip (13-20 May) and don't mind fighting for sleeping space, the cost will be $200. If anybody would rather make a shorter trip (16-20 May) the cost will be $125. I don't foresee too much of a problem with the cramped bed down the first couple of nights as we already have a couple of people that have said they won't mind sleeping on the floor. I plan on doing the same, so we can make it work. In the near future, I will be asking for inputs from the riders making the trip from the Panhandle on trailer arrangements and other such details. Additionally, I will be adding a link with maps and directions for those that might not convoy up with us and those that are coming via a different route. (Kelly & Kevin)

2 Feb 06: HUGE UPDATE: The update for today has some major implications for our trip. Called yesterday to reserve the rentals and found out that they are already booked full through the end of JUNE!!!!! (I know Sis, I know) As it turns out they were booked full for over the past month and a half. I guess the word has gotten out about the Dragon. Damn magazine articles. Anyway, I've been frantically searching for other arrangements and have found a suitable sub in the Yellow Branch Cabins. The website only shows two units but the owner told me he actually has a couple more to be added soon. We will be renting both shown on the site and an additional two bedroom unit. I still have a few details to work out with the owner but should have it locked up tomorrow. With this change come some pluses and minuses. The minuses are: No garage to keep the bikes in at night (It is out in the sticks so should not be that big of a deal). One of the places is currently rented during the first couple of days. This means some of us might have to move to another cabin during our stay. (This is one of the details I'm working on. The owner is going to see if the other party would be interested in staying in another rental allowing us to have all of them for the duration, which means nobody will have to move). Someone in each cabin will have to sleep on the couch (we can take turns). Lastly, the drive into town is a slightly longer (but it is a great ride into town, so this don't really count as a minus). The pluses are: Closer to the Dragon. We actually can get them booked. And lastly, the cabins are closer to the Dragon. For those that might be interested, I have posted a link on the front page so you can check the places out. Would like to add Chris to the list of riders, Welcome Chris! As of now we are full. If anyone wishes to join us now they will either have to sleep on the floor, hope somebody else backs out or book their own arrangements. Just so everyone can start making plans the dates are final: 13 May arrival thru 20 May departure. Final cost for each rider is $200 and I'll pay the difference.

30 Jan 06: The latest developments (I wonder if anybody is actually reading these?): Added riders for this years trip include: Flo, Kelly and Heather, and Chuck (I'm told Chuck does not have computer/internet access so feel free to thrash him on the board), bringing our confirmed number riders/passengers to 10. A few others have shown interest but have not signed up on the board. I must repeat, if you're not sure enough to sign the board, I won't include you in the plans when I book the living arrangements. While we will do our best to accomodate you later, you might be sleeping on the floor. Wouldn't you rather have a bed? Sign up now.

24 Jan 06: Well, we finally have our expected riders signed up (with the exception on Dan's buddy Chuck, whats up Dan, you going to send him the link or what?) As of now, we have Brian, Kevin, Dan, Mike, Randy and myself signed up. We only have another week to go before I make the reservations so if you think anyone else would like to go with us, send them the link and tell them to sign the board, ASAP!

23 Jan 06: Finally people are starting to get the idea. Welcome Dan and Mike, I knew you guys would catch on. Still waiting on RANDY, but I expect we'll be waiting on him throughout this years trip. Don't know how he's going to run me into a guardrail being he is way back in the pack! As for updates, unless I get word otherwise, we are looking at making the trip the 13-20 of May. Not exactly firm yet, so let me know if anyone has any issues with the dates.

18 Jan 06: Well, the site has been up and running for two weeks now and I'm not getting much of a response. You guys are WEAK! Brian and Kevin have signed up, and that is it. I really expected Randy, Dan and of course Mike to be signed up by now. Guess some people are just SLOW!!!! Anyway, not much of an update because I'm not getting much feedback.

6 Jan 06: As we have just begun to plan the 2006 Dragon Trip. There are no updates yet. But hey, thanks for checking the link out. Now, how about going to the message board and signing up for the trip and giving me something else to put here!
